Why Choose HEAL Support Services?
Specialised neurological support
HEAL Support Services specialises in supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. We understand that neurological conditions can affect movement, cognition, communication, mood, behaviour and everyday functioning—and that no two people experience their condition in exactly the same way.
Our support workers take the time to understand not only the participant’s condition, but also their individual experience of it. This allows us to provide personalised, informed and responsive support that adapts as needs change.
All workers receive training relevant to the neurological conditions of the people they support. Through ongoing education, current research, professional guidance and shared learning, we continually strengthen our knowledge and approach as evidence, best practice and participants’ needs evolve.
Our team is carefully and intentionally selected. We look beyond standard qualifications to find people who demonstrate the right balance of skill, compassion and genuine connection. Our workers bring diverse backgrounds—including experience in nursing, nutrition, health and wellbeing—together with valuable professional and lived experience.
Most importantly, they share a genuine commitment to the principles at the heart of our name: HEAL—Healthy, Educated, Active Living. These four pillars guide us to support the whole person by promoting health and wellbeing, building knowledge and confidence, encouraging safe activity and connection, and helping each person continue living with independence, meaning and purpose.
Specialised Focus on Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s disease is a key area of specialisation for HEAL Support Services. Our workers receive dedicated training to understand the complexities of the condition, including how it can affect movement, balance, communication, cognition, mood, motivation and daily life.
This knowledge enables our team to provide practical and proactive support that reflects each participant’s symptoms, routines, goals and changing needs. We work alongside participants, families, therapists and healthcare professionals to reinforce recommended strategies and promote safety, independence and meaningful participation.
The HEAL Approach
Our approach goes beyond completing daily support tasks. Through our HEAL framework—Healthy, Educated, Active Living—we incorporate a whole-person approach into everyday care.
This means supporting participants to maintain their function, independence and overall wellbeing for as long as possible. Depending on the person’s goals and professional recommendations, this may include encouraging appropriate movement and exercise, supporting nutritious choices, reinforcing communication or therapeutic strategies, promoting cognitive engagement, and helping the person maintain social connection, purpose and community involvement.
At HEAL Support Services, we believe that understanding the condition, supporting the person and empowering the individual are equally important.
Because the right support doesn’t just assist—it strengthens, educates and enables people to live their lives.
Support for Other Neurological Conditions
HEAL Support Services provides specialised support for people living with Acquired Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Dementia, Stroke, and other progressive or complex neurological conditions.
We understand that every neurological condition presents differently and that each person’s needs, goals and abilities are unique. Our support workers receive relevant training and guidance to provide compassionate, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, wellbeing and community participation.
We carefully consider every referral to ensure that the person’s needs align with our team’s skills, experience and capacity. We do not accept participants simply to increase the number of people we support. We take on a new participant only when we genuinely believe that our team can provide safe, meaningful and effective support—and make a positive difference in that person’s life.
Working alongside participants, families, therapists and healthcare professionals, we provide flexible support that can adapt as circumstances and needs change.
